STEP 1

Delete the apps from your phone.

The obvious one. Delete all of them: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube. If you don't use it, easy. If you run your own business/ need to be on there for work, here's a work around:

  • Delete any platforms you don't actively post on.
  • When you need to post: download the app, do your thing, delete it. Ten minutes. Done.
  • Optional: On Instagram hide everyone you follow. The comparison that drains you isn't celebrities, it's the people in your wider circle. Remove that loop

A note on addiction-switching: when you delete the main culprit, your nervous system will look for a new route. You'll find yourself deep in LinkedIn when you haven't opened it in years. If you're going all in, delete all of them.


STEP 2

Install Newsfeed Eradicator.

This is the one most people miss, and its the step that makes the biggest difference.

What usually happens is that you delete the apps off your phone and immediately sit down at your laptop and start scrolling.

Newsfeed Eradicator is a free browser extension that removes the feed from every social platform, but keeps your access. You can still see messages, look up profiles, and post (on FB), but the endless scroll...GONE.


STEP 3

Adhere to the above guidelines for AT LEAST 60 days.

After this you can decide if how much you want to use social media beyond this...instead social media using you.

You won't want to go back.
